ST300
I'm having trouble. It seems that I only get 2 speeds. Speed 1 and 2 are the same and 3.4.5 are the same.
the 2 reverse speeds are the same also.

Do you think it is the switch or the speed coils that are bad?
The switch seems to act the same .
Here is a chart of the way the switch ohms out. Blank spots mean there was no continuity

switch pin 1 2 3
speed 1 .1
2 .1
3 .1
4 .1
5 .1 .1 .1

How does the switch get 5 speed when the motor only has 3 wires? I know there are restiotors but the schemtic shows 3 wires and 2 res. that to me seems like 4 speed but again I only get 2.

Thanks for your help. I got the motor free froma friend. Being laid off for a week a month frees up some fishing time. but cant speed alot doing it, lol

the switch uses combinations of different speed coil windings, which are located in the motor unit itself. My guess is you'll need to replace the KT150-02 switch: http://www.mikesreelrepair.com/product_info.php?products_id=47717
